Quick answer
What does an AEO agency in Saudi Arabia do for AI search?
An AEO agency Saudi Arabia brands hire for AI search records how ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and Copilot answer Saudi buyer questions in Arabic and English, then fixes what keeps the brand out: crawler access, consistent entity facts, answer-first pages in both languages and honest mentions on cited sources. Progress is measured on the same prompts monthly.
- Search 'AEO agency Saudi Arabia' and ZATCA's Authorized Economic Operator customs pages fill most of page one.
- Google brought AI Overviews to MENA and to Arabic on 20 May 2025, and AI Mode in Arabic from 8 October 2025.
- Microsoft's September 2026 AI diffusion update says Saudi Arabia made the largest rank rise of any economy, from 30th to 25th.
- Paid creators need a Mawthooq licence, and Saudi e-commerce rules require ads to be disclosed, so we only pursue honest coverage.
Why does 'AEO agency Saudi Arabia' return customs pages?
Because in the Kingdom AEO first means Authorized Economic Operator, the customs accreditation run by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) for importers, exporters, clearing agents and carriers. When we searched 'aeo agency saudi arabia' on 23 October 2026, ZATCA's AEO program pages, World Customs Organization news and a logistics firm's AEO certification announcement filled the first results, with only a couple of marketing agencies' pages below them.
On this page AEO means answer engine optimization: the work of getting a brand cited inside AI search answers. If you were looking for a GEO agency in Riyadh or an AI SEO agency in Jeddah, it is the same job under a different label, and our explainer on aeo vs geo shows where each term came from. If you need the customs accreditation, ZATCA's Saudi AEO program is the place to start, not us.
What does AI search look like in Saudi Arabia in 2026?
Saudi buyers now get AI answers in both of the languages they search in. Google's MENA blog announced on 20 May 2025 that AI Overviews were broadly available across the Middle East and North Africa and globally in Arabic, on mobile and desktop. AI Mode followed in English across MENA on 21 August 2025, as a tab on the results page and in the Google app, as Gulf Business reported, and Google's Arabic blog announced AI Mode in Arabic on 8 October 2025 as one of 36 new languages.
Adoption is rising fast. Microsoft's AI diffusion update of 21 September 2026 says Saudi Arabia climbed five places, from 30th to 25th, the largest rise in the rankings, though the post does not give a Saudi percentage, so we do not quote one.
Google remains the stage. StatCounter puts Google at 94.46% of Saudi searches in September 2026, with Bing at 3.75% and Yandex at 1.06%. That makes Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT the first priorities, with Bing Webmaster Tools added when Copilot matters to your buyers, for example in enterprise B2B where Microsoft 365 is the default workplace.

Which Saudi sectors do we help appear in AI answers?
We work wherever Saudi buyers ask an assistant for a shortlist before they ask a colleague. Real estate is the clearest case: developers and brokerages compete with Aqar and other portals in answers about districts, off-plan projects and rents, so handover dates, developer names and prices in riyals must match across your site and every listing.
Financial services and fintech firms meet comparison sites and news coverage in answers about business accounts, payment gateways and insurance, so fee and product facts must be current in both languages. B2B SaaS companies selling into Riyadh's enterprise and government buyers need G2 and Capterra profiles, honest comparison pages and Arabic documentation that crawlers can read.
Hotels and travel brands serving the Kingdom's tourism push compete with Tripadvisor and Booking.com for 'where to stay' prompts in Riyadh, Jeddah and AlUla. We also support healthcare providers, ecommerce brands selling across the Gulf, professional services firms and local businesses such as clinics and dentists, whose Google Business Profile shapes most local answers.
Which AEO services can Saudi teams hire from us?
The full set, delivered remotely in English with Arabic prompt testing. Most engagements start with an AEO audit: we record how each engine answers your Arabic and English prompts today, find what blocks citations and rank the fixes, so you can decide on a longer program with evidence in hand.
Technical AEO covers robots.txt, Cloudflare's AI crawler settings, server-rendered HTML for both language versions, right-to-left layouts that still expose clean text, sitemaps and hreflang. AI visibility tracking reruns the prompt set every month and reports citation share by language alongside Search Console data and GA4 referrals.
Engine work follows where your buyers are. ChatGPT SEO focuses on OAI-SearchBot access and the third-party pages ChatGPT reads, while Perplexity SEO covers PerplexityBot and Perplexity's source choices. For content, our GEO services and AEO content writing rebuild key pages into answer-first formats with named sources and visible review dates. If your team would rather run the work itself, AEO consulting supplies the prompt set, priorities and training.
Which Saudi buyer prompts do we test, and how is progress measured?
We write prompts the way Saudis type them: Arabic first for consumer categories, English where B2B buyers search in English, riyal prices, and place names such as Olaya, King Abdullah Financial District or Al Khobar. Arabic and English prompts often surface different sources, so we keep separate sets and report them side by side, and we never machine-translate one set into the other.
Progress is measured four ways: citation share across the prompt set, GA4 referral sessions from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, copilot.microsoft.com and gemini.google.com, Search Console's generative AI performance data, and Bing Webmaster Tools AI Performance where Copilot matters. If you run Saudi and UAE versions of the same site, we check that ar-SA, en-SA and the Emirates versions carry correct hreflang so each market sees the right page; our international AEO work covers that in depth.
| Buyer stage | Example Saudi prompt | Where the answer usually comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Shortlist | best ERP software for Saudi SMEs with ZATCA e-invoicing | Third-party lists, G2, Capterra, vendor pages |
| Property research | best districts in north Riyadh for families renting a villa | Aqar and other portals, news sites, developer pages |
| Hospitality | boutique hotel in AlUla with desert views | Tripadvisor, Booking.com, editorial roundups |
| Local service | dermatology clinic in Jeddah open on Saturday | Google Business Profile, clinic pages |
| Arabic query | the same property, software or clinic question asked in Arabic | Arabic pages, YouTube, portals, Arabic news sites |
What rules apply to AI search optimization in Saudi Arabia?
Three sets of rules touch this work: media licensing for paid creators, e-commerce advertising rules and data protection. Our tactics are built to sit inside all three; this is general information, not legal advice.
- Gulf News reported in December 2024 that the General Authority for Media Regulation requires every influencer doing commercial advertising, resident or visiting, to hold a Mawthooq licence, so check the licence of any creator you pay to mention your brand.
- Saudi Arabia's E-Commerce Law bars advertisements containing false or misleading claims, and Gulf News has reported Ministry of Commerce fines on advertisers who failed to disclose that content was advertising.
- The Personal Data Protection Law, enforced by SDAIA after a transition period that ended in September 2024, requires consent for direct marketing and an easy way to opt out, so review requests go only to genuine customers on a lawful basis.
- Every review should come from a real customer; we never write, buy or filter reviews.
- Paid placements on 'best agency' or 'top developer' lists should be labelled as paid; we do not buy listicle spots.
How do we work with Saudi teams across time zones?
Saudi Arabia is an easy market for us to serve. Saudi Arabia keeps UTC+3 all year with no daylight saving, and India Standard Time is UTC+5:30, so our Delhi team is always two and a half hours ahead. A 9:00 call in Riyadh is 11:30 in Delhi, which leaves most of the Saudi working day shared.
The working week differs: since the 2013 royal decree reported by Arab News, the official weekend is Friday and Saturday, so many Saudi offices work Sunday to Thursday. We schedule calls Monday to Thursday, when both calendars overlap, and run prompt tests and crawler checks so results are ready when your team starts on Sunday. If you also sell into America, our US office can join calls in their hours.
What happens in the first 90 days with an AEO agency in Saudi Arabia?
Month one measures, month two fixes, month three gives the first fair comparison. We avoid declaring wins from a single answer, because engines vary between runs.
Days 1 to 30 cover the Arabic and English prompt baseline, a robots.txt and Cloudflare review, and an entity check across Organization schema, your commercial registration details on the site, Google Business Profile, Aqar or Tripadvisor where relevant, and LinkedIn. Days 31 to 60 cover page restructuring in both languages, a review request plan that stays inside the PDPL, and the first digital PR outreach for honest mentions in Saudi and Gulf business media. Days 61 to 90 rerun every prompt in both languages and set priorities for the next quarter.
What does AEO cost in Saudi Arabia, and who is it not for?
Published Saudi prices are rare. Webtonic's comparison of 21 Riyadh SEO agencies, updated 9 October 2026, found that apart from Webtonic itself not one publishes a rate, and we found no riyal rate card for AEO or GEO work. Our guide to AEO pricing sets out the published US, UK, South African and Indian benchmarks so you have something concrete to compare quotes against.
We take a simpler route: one fixed price per engagement, agreed after a free AEO visibility check, so the full cost is in writing before any work starts.
It suits Saudi companies with an indexed site, a clear buyer and someone who can approve changes in both languages. It is not for teams that want a promised spot in ChatGPT, plan to buy reviews or unlicensed influencer posts, or have no organic foundations yet. The mistakes we see most are fixable: Arabic pages that answer different questions from the English ones, Arabic text loaded by JavaScript that crawlers cannot read, Cloudflare defaults blocking OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot, portal listings with stale prices, and publishing llms.txt in the hope it changes citations when no major engine has confirmed using it.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are you a Saudi AEO agency with an office in Riyadh?
No. AEO Services Agency is the AEO and GEO practice of Greenwolf Tech Labs, with offices in India and the USA, and every Saudi engagement runs remotely. We use Saudi prompts in Arabic and English, riyal prices, local directories and Saudi rules, and our Delhi team is only two and a half hours ahead of Riyadh.
Is answer engine optimization related to the ZATCA AEO program?
No. ZATCA's Authorized Economic Operator program is a customs accreditation for businesses that move goods across borders. Answer engine optimization is a marketing discipline focused on being cited by AI search tools such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity.
Are Google AI Overviews and AI Mode available in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Google announced AI Overviews across the Middle East and North Africa, and in Arabic globally, on 20 May 2025. AI Mode reached MENA in English on 21 August 2025, and Google announced AI Mode in Arabic on 8 October 2025.
How much does an AEO agency cost in Saudi Arabia?
Few Saudi agencies publish prices: Webtonic's October 2026 review of 21 Riyadh SEO agencies found that, apart from Webtonic itself, none do. We quote one fixed price per engagement after a free AEO visibility check, and our AEO pricing guide shows published benchmarks from other markets.
Should Saudi brands optimize Arabic or English pages for AI search?
Usually both, tested separately. Consumer buyers in the Kingdom often search in Arabic, while many B2B buyers search in English, and the two languages can cite different sources. We build one prompt set per language and check that both versions state the same facts.
How long does AI search optimization take for a Saudi business?
Access fixes can register within days; OpenAI says robots.txt changes for OAI-SearchBot take about 24 hours. Content, listing and mention work in two languages usually needs two or three monthly reruns before a reliable trend shows, because AI answers vary between runs.
Do paid influencer posts help my brand appear in ChatGPT in Saudi Arabia?
They can be cited, but only use licensed creators and disclose the post as advertising. Gulf News reported that the General Authority for Media Regulation requires a Mawthooq licence for commercial influencer advertising, and the Ministry of Commerce has fined undisclosed ads. This is not legal advice.
What is the difference between a GEO agency and an AEO agency in Saudi Arabia?
Mostly the label. GEO stresses generative engines and AEO stresses answers, but both aim to get your brand named and cited in AI search. Ask any agency how it measures results in Arabic and English, because the method matters more than the acronym.
Can an agency guarantee my brand appears in AI Overviews or ChatGPT?
No. No one can promise a citation, because AI answers change between runs and no engine publishes its ranking rules. A credible agency fixes access, content and mentions, then shows movement on a fixed prompt set over several months.
Should a Saudi website block GPTBot?
That is a policy choice separate from search. Blocking GPTBot opts you out of OpenAI model training only; appearing in ChatGPT search depends on OAI-SearchBot, which must be allowed. Cloudflare's settings can block training bots while leaving search crawlers open.
